i am due Feb 3rd, my mother and my fiances mom are throwing me a shower, i want some say in all this.
when should we start planning?
also when do you think would be a good time for the shower since everyone is usually broke around the holidays, and hung over from new years,lol.
and where can i find some games for a baby shower?

You are not supposed to plan or help plan your own baby shower when someone else is throwing it for you. It’s bad etiquette. Just sit back and enjoy what they do for you! Then, when it’s done don’t forget to say thank you to the two of them. also, don’t forget to send thank you cards.

I have to agree with Gracie. You really just need to step back and let them take care of it. Only give input if/when you are asked.
Hi, I’m due Feb 6 and my mom is arranging my baby shower, I’ve sent her a guest list and a list of things we still need, (with specifications where necessary) I also gave her a date, the last weekend in November, if you think about it, you’ll only have two more months to go and be getting bigger by the day, I’m sure you still want to be comfortable and mobile at your shower and still be able to go shopping for the things you still don’t have. You can never start planning too soon, as long as the invites are not given out too late or too soon, I’d probably give mine out at the beginning of Nov. Just google baby shower games, there are so many. I’m sure you’ll find something to suite your taste. Hope it helped! Good luck and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!
We have the same due date! My sister was due around the same time and we had hers in November(I guess that we will have to do the same for mine)Since around Thanksgiving and the rest of the time after that people are really busy that time of year.
Forget what the top two said. There is NOTHING wrong with wanting to plan or help plan your own shower. Call me controlling, but I’d rather know exactly what’s going on as opposed to walking in a room and being disappointed. As far as planning, there is no harm in thinking of ideas right now. Just start looking around for games and activities you’d like to have. And if you buy gifts for the guests or winner of games, there is no problem in shopping early. Who knows, you might catch something on sale. You can even start thinking of a menu. Also, depending on what food is served, if it’s a really good sale at the store, it can be purchased, stored properly and frozen. As far as having the shower, you’re right, the holidays are tough. Personally, I’d make it for the beginning of January. But send out the invitations the first week or two of December. Everyone tends to be in a generous mood around Christmas and are willing to spend more on your gift. Or, they are so fed up with holiday shopping that shopping for a baby is a nice break. As far as finding games to play, do you belong to any mommy sites? Try babyfit.com and babycenter.com They have some pretty interesting info on there. Congrats on you baby!!
Since the people mentioned told you that they are throwing you a baby shower, I think if you want, go ahead and have some say in it. You can have in your mind what theme you want, even if it coordinates with your nursery theme. It’s your baby shower, maybe they wanted you to help with ideas.
Do a search on yahoo answers for “baby shower games” and you’ll find a lot. Have your shower about mid-January, that way everyone is recouped after holiday spending, etc.
With my 1st child my friend offered to throw me a shower and I ended up doing everything! From buying the food and decorations, to writing the invitations. Hopefully with this one someone will do it and all I will have to do is show up! I’m due February 11, but since I’m having a C-section the doctor says it might be 2 weeks before that. I don’t know when mine will be, but I’m hoping for sometime in November.
